Barbour
When John Barbour founded Barbour in 1894, he originally set out to provide the dockers and fisherman of South Shields with warm and functional clothing to withstand wet weather conditions. Barbour later evolved to produce motorcycling garments and even design the Ursula suit - worn by members of the British Navy in WW2. In the latter half of the 20th century, Barbour began to symbolise a style of British countrywear that exuded sophistication and glamour, whilst retaining grit and durability. The label's popularity has endured throughout the years, with Barbour constituting a British heritage brand, whilst also appealing to new audiences through a string of exciting collaborations.
