Reebok
In 1958, Reebok was established as a companion company to J.W. Foster and Sons - a business founded in 1895 in Bolton, England. Interestingly, the name Reebok derives from a misspelling of the Afrikaans word for grey antelope; 'Rhebok'. Since the sportswear label first debuted, it has garnered a cult following - becoming a classic within the sneaker world. Although Reebok's success largely began in the 80s, capitalising on the decade's fitness revolution by appealing to the masses with gear designed for the amateur athlete. Reebok evolved into a popular lifestyle brand - a tag which is still true today, with the brand celebrated for its performance-built footwear that still retains cultural meaning and contemporary relevance.
