Needles

Needles has built its own universe of contemporary Americana styling. The brand was born out of Keizo Shimizu's affinity to American style and culture after his eyes were opened to a new world of menswear by discovering magazines from the U.S in his early youth before the internet. Initially Shimizu began importing American clothing to Japan, taking regular trips to the States to find new inspirations and deadstock items. Eventually Shimizu founded Needles in '95, marrying the inherent class of Japanese craftsmanship with a tasteful assortment of references from films, actors, musicians and artists. Needles' vision is referential yet individual. The label transforms classic pieces through a contemporary scope, leading to unique patterns, fabrics and shapes - often completed with the brand's iconic butterfly logo famously inspired by Steve McQueen's tattoo in the film Papillon.
